What’s a Votercade?

It’s the fun, easy, touch-free way to vote in 2020!

Drop off your ballot in person at your county registrar of voters, department of elections office or other authorized dropoff location. Plan a virtual dropoff with friends, coordinate with your neighbors, or just go solo!

Take a photo or video of your Votercade, upload it to your favorite social media with the hashtag #VotercadeChallenge and tag 5 friends!

Is this a political activity?

Voting is a political activity. However, this is a 100% non-partisan political initiative and a celebration of what it means to be American.

Please keep your decorations non-partisan! Many states prohibit wearing campaign paraphernalia or carrying signs to a polling place.

The day of your Votercade, decorate with flags and other patriotic gear. Wear red, white and blue. Have fun with the theme — add a #DropoffDance or #BallotBump!

Why a Votercade?

Voting by mail or authorized dropoff location preserves our bedrock right. This election year, America is facing a pandemic as well as historic challenges to the U.S. Postal Service. Voting absentee or by mail-in and bringing your ballot directly to your registrar of voters helps you avoid crowds, long lines and uncertainty at polling stations. It also alleviates stress on our postal service.

Can’t get out? A friend may be able to submit your ballot for you. Check your state laws for details.

Note: In some states, absentee ballots must be dropped off before Election Day. More info »

How to get started?

Make sure you’re currently registered as an absentee or mail-in voter. Once your ballot arrives, fill it out immediately, sign it — and plan your #VotercadeChallenge!

Confirm your dropoff location, as well as dates and times. Dropoff rules vary by state and county. Hint: your county elections office is always a sure bet.
